Last wish

Christmas Eve, she laid before his burial ground, to slumber.


The first ray of morning light passed, warming in its visit, but unable to recall the warmth that has left her body in the night.


She felt her soul surrounded by wings of darkness, Death before her, an undefiable abyss.

"This is my last wish, Death," she muttered, caressing the band around her finger, "Can you bring me to the owner of this ring? Could you?"

"My dear, maybe you don't understand," the low, hollow, dream-like voice replied, "I am merely here to take your soul away, not grant you wishes."


"Ahh, I see it now... What's lost is forever," she whispered, "Or no, maybe, he's already became part of my soul, maybe, never left; in that ring of promise this life, in that delicate light, in the deepest recess of my memories, reincarnations, and more..."
